WATM/WWCP-TV the ABC/FOX affiliates in Johnstown, Altoona and State College, PA has an opening for an Account Executive to join our team of integrated Broadcast professionals. This position will report to the Director of Sales. The Account Executive position is responsible for selling WATM/WWCP-TV, as well as a full suite of digital product offerings. Ideal candidate will reside in Johnstown or Altoona, PA, have a strong work ethic, the drive to succeed, be detailed orientated, have outside sales experience, and the ability to work in a changing, fast-paced environment.

Digital Sales Specialist
WWCP – Johnstown, PA

WATM/WWCP-TV the ABC/FOX affiliates in State College, Altoona and Johnstown, PA is searching for a Digital Sales Specialist. The Digital Sales Specialist will lead the station’s efforts in growing New and Incremental Digital revenue. We are looking for a proven digital seller to develop a strategic digital campaign.

This candidate must have a proven history of developing and executing successful client-specific campaigns. The candidate must be willing and capable of learning about new products and be able to execute sales strategies in the quickly changing digital landscape. The ideal candidate will have a professional knowledge of all aspects of Targeted Digital advertising. They must be able to work with our Digital vendors to assure our clients digital campaigns are running effectively.

The ideal candidate will reside in State College, Altoona or Johnstown, PA, have a strong work ethic, the drive to succeed, be detailed orientated, have outside sales experience, and the ability to work in a changing, fast-paced environment.

Requirements:

Two or more years of integrated Digital/Media sales experience preferred, preferably in a TV/Radio/Print Sales and Marketing environment Business or marketing degree preferred or equivalent in years of   experience.

Multi-Media Journalist
WWCP – Johnstown, PA

WWCP FOX 8 in Johnstown, PA, is seeking to fill the position of Multi-Media Journalist (MMJ) Presenter/Producer. The Multimedia Journalist Reporter produces, reports, shoots, writes, voices, edits and feeds news production content for all platforms in a manner that is clear, engaging and meaningful to our daily news and lifestyle show, FOX 8 News Now. The candidate will furnish a wide variety of news content either working alone or in tandem with the rest of the team. This position coordinates with the Booking Producer, Show Host and Editor/Director. The individual will be called upon to represent WWCP in public in a professional and courteous manner.

Essential Job Functions

Writes, reports, presents, shoots, edits video content/assets and stories from concept to finish. Generates story ideas, cultivates news sources and remains knowledgeable regarding places, events, and people in the news, local or national.

Builds community contacts, provides daily story notes outlining ideas for future stories. Passes along facts uncovered concerning ongoing projects and shares information relating to upcoming events, meetings, or story developments.

Serves as community ambassador for the news department. Responds to concerns of viewers.

Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements:

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism, Communications or related field, or equivalent training and/or experience.

Experience

At least two years experience in broadcast journalism with experience reporting (MMJ) news at a commercial television station preferred.

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Must possess advanced understanding of legal and ethical issues impacting journalism.

Ability to combine words and pictures into informative and interesting news stories.

Ability to shoot, write and edit packaged reports.

Advanced knowledge of the locale, governing bodies, demographics and public figures.

Ability to perform quality work in high pressure deadline situations.

Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Must possess valid Driver’s License with a good driving record.

Office Assistant
KRNV-TV – Reno, NV

KRNV-TV has an opening for an Office Assistant.   This position supports the daily operations of the Station by managing front desk responsibilities, assisting multiple departments with administrative tasks, coordinating employee engagement activities, and helping maintain compliance with FCC requirements. This role plays a key part in ensuring the office environment functions smoothly and professionally while upholding company values and providing excellent internal and external service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for visitors and phone calls, manage mail and deliveries, and maintain front desk security and visitor records.
  • Assist with employee engagement efforts by coordinating office décor, supporting seasonal activities, and helping plan and organize employee events, monthly BBQs, holiday activities, and station meetings.
  • Assist Business office with trade-related tasks such as distribution, ordering, and invoices
  • Provide cross-departmental support, including document scanning, form preparation, assisting with meeting coordination, notarizing documents (if certified), and supporting special projects for News, Sales, and other departments.
  • Support FCC compliance by helping prepare quarterly Issues and Programs Reports and uploading political orders and invoices during required reporting periods.
  • Maintain shared office spaces, including break rooms, storage areas, and workspaces, ensuring they are clean, organized, and well-stocked, and oversee inventory and ordering of office supplies.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Perform duties with accuracy, sound judgment, professionalism, and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all company data, processes, and information.
  • Represent the Station professionally when interacting with clients, service providers, and viewers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Station leadership.

Qualifications

Maintenance Engineer
WVAH – Charleston, WV

WVAH/WCHS- TV, in Charleston, WV has an excellent opportunity for a Maintenance Engineer! This position involves maintaining broadcasting equipment from transmitters to computers and servers all related to television transmission, media aggregation, automation systems, as well as business-side workstations and directly responsible for hands-on support of all broadcast equipment. In addition, the candidate would be responsible for ensuring the station operates in compliance with FCC rules and regulations while overseeing FCC requirements and completing FCC duties in a timely and accurate manner to maintain the station’s FCC license.

Responsibilities included but not limited to:

  • Maintain and repair the station and all broadcast and supporting equipment as needed.
  • Provide support in the management of equipment in multiple facilities.
  • Assist with transmitter and microwave maintenance as necessary.
  • Provide digital I/O support including installing, servicing, updating, and repairing of associated equipment as necessary.
  • Address signal transmission maintenance and repair requests as required.
  • Respond to issues regarding facilities maintenance to include but not limited to HVAC, electrical, plumbing, grounds, etc.
  • The possibility of unexpected and/or late-night calls for engineering emergencies.
  • Act as the subject matter expert and point of contact for all things as it relates to equipment and technology, as well as stay up to date on the new industry standards.
  • Implement, install & maintain engineering systems and provide end-user support across all departments and logging as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements:

  • Associates degree or higher in IT, electronics or computer related field or equivalent work experience.
  • 2 – 4 years of related broadcast experience recommended.
  • A great team-oriented attitude and dedication to quality and performance.
  • Strong ongoing interdepartmental commitment to support organizational objectives.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills are a must.
  • Effective interpersonal skills are essential, including the ability to navigate differing viewpoints with professionalism and constructive communication.
  • Strong familiarity with Microsoft and Linux operating systems.
  • Knowledge and competency in core hardware and computer system technologies, including installation, configuration, diagnosing, preventive maintenance and LAN/WAN networking.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting problems and responding quickly under pressure.
  • Valid & unencumbered driver’s license to operate station vehicles and reliable and dependable personal transportation to fulfill engineering duties.
  • Satellite uplink operation skills a plus.
